FAQ
Questions we hear most
What happens at my first visit?
You talk with your doctor about what you want from care, then have a hands-on exam. Your doctor explains what was found and what is suggested, and you decide. A first visit takes about an hour. Bring your insurance or Medicare card and a list of the medicines you take.
Is chiropractic care safe?
Chiropractic care has known risks. Many people feel sore for a day or so afterward. Rarely, an adjustment of the neck has been linked to a tear in a neck artery, so your doctor explains the risks before any neck adjustment. Tell your doctor about your health history, and if something calls for your physician first, we say so.
Will it hurt?
You may feel pressure, and some people feel sore afterward, as after a long walk. We use low force, and you can ask us to slow down, change position or stop at any time.
How many visits will I need?
Your doctor sets a plan with you after the exam and changes it as you go. We do not promise a number of visits.
Do you take my insurance?
We bill Medicare for spinal manipulation, and other plans where the plan allows. Medicare covers only spinal manipulation. Call the front desk with the name of your plan and we will check before your first visit. How fees work has the details.
What if I do not use insurance?
You can pay for each visit yourself. If you do not use insurance, you have the right to a Good Faith Estimate. Ask us, and we give you the cost in writing before care begins. We can also give you an itemized receipt to send to your plan.
Do I need x-rays?
Only when they are medically necessary. Your doctor tells you why one is suggested, and you can say no. Medicare does not cover x-rays.
Can someone come into the visit with me?
Yes. A spouse, a friend or a grown child can sit in on your visit, with your OK. We care for adults. If you are pregnant or are bringing a child, call and we will tell you whether we are the right office.
What if I have seen another provider?
Tell us. With your OK we ask your physician or other providers for records, and your doctor works alongside them. If something calls for your physician first, we say so.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please call us as early as you can if you need to change a visit. Ask the front desk about our cancellation policy.
Still have a question?
Call and a person answers, or send a note and we will call you back.
